Rather than judging whether an image of masculinity is appropriate or not (I leave it to you as a man to judge for yourself), I would take from this article that someone else is calling the shots: corporate advertising. So men are the latest target for raking in a lot of money by making men feel insecure about their looks. A skinny young man with little hope for bulging muscles just might assume that he-man clothing will do the trick. $500 dollars later, that is.
